REMOVE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE STAINS (Including
some Wines) by following these TIPS : Always wipe up
spilled drinks promptly and sponge fabrics with cool water to
avoid a serious stain. In cleaning such spills and splashes -
sponge the stain with alcohol*. For acetates* dilute the alcohol
with two parts of water. If a trace remains, use a chlorine bleach,
or hydrogen peroxide. Alcohol in these beverages sometimes makes
dyes in your carpet run and fade; there is no easy remedy for
this damage. When a carpet becomes permanently stained or discolored
it may be necessary to have it professionally dyed or replaced.

- MORE TIPS FOR REMOVING
WINE: Blot with a
sponge dampened with a mild detergent, such as Woolite. If there's
a ring, feather the edge with a cloth dampened with a combination
solvent, such as Shout. Use an eyedropper to apply a solution
of one part ammonia or white vinegar and two parts water to bleach
any remaining stain. Flush the area with cold water.
- *NOTE: Some products like hydrogen peroxide, or alcohol
can actually bleach or change the color in some fabrics. Read
the WARNING notice below and proceed with caution whenever you
use such products.
| WARNING: Before making any attempts
to remove spots, always test fabric for colorfastness first by
applying a small amount of the cleaning solution or chemical
on a hidden or unnoticeable area. The tips listed here are NOT
guaranteed to work in every case and may have a negative affect.
