TIPS
FOR REMOVING COFFEE & TEA STAINS AND CLEANING COFFEE SPOTS: To remove
fresh tea and coffee stains containing cream from washable fabric
follow the directions for "Combination
Stains". If cream is not involved, follow the directions
for "Nongreasy Stains,"
or, on fabrics that will stand it, pour small amounts of boiling
water onto the spot and, by using an absorbent cloth, dry the
area, being careful not to burn yourself. Repeat as many times
as needed. Try chlorine bleach* if a trace remains. Be sure to
check for colorfastness before using the bleach*. Return to Spot Removal Guide
- *NOTE: Some products like hydrogen peroxide, or alcohol
can actually bleach or change the color in some fabrics. Read
the WARNING notice below and proceed with caution whenever you
use such products.
| WARNING: Before making any attempts
to remove spots, always test fabric for colorfastness first by
applying a small amount of the cleaning solution or chemical
on a hidden or unnoticeable area. The tips listed here are NOT
guaranteed to work in every case and may have a negative affect.
When using any chemical or liquid on fabric you should PROCEED
WITH CAUTION. If you are unsure as to how your carpet or upholstery
might be affected you should call a professional cleaning technician
in your area. |
